FIH confirmed the Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) that Malaysia will replace Canada in the World Hockey League to take place in Bangladesh from the first week of March.
The World Hockey League was scheduled to held with eight teams including Canada but they withdrew their name from the competition excusing the security reason.
Abdus Sadeque, general secretary of the Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF), told media yesterday that the FIH through a confirmation letter to BHF informed that they included Malaysia, as Canada denied to take part.
Bangladesh was drawn in the Group A along with Oman, Malaysia and Fiji while the Group B comprised with China, Egypt, Ghana and Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh will begin their campaign on March 4 with taking on Malaysia who are world ranking 13.
