Regent Airways, leading private airline of Bangladesh, added a new Boeing 737-800 aircraft to its fleet. After adding Boeing 737-800 the total number of aircraft of Regent’s fleet now stands at 6, including – four Boeing and two dash, says a press release.
The Regent Airways will start two new routes with the new Boeing 737-800 aircraft, the officials of the Regent Airways disclosed.
Addressing the receiving function of the aircraft, Managing Director of the airline Mashruf Habib said,
“We have included the new Boeing 737-800 aircraft which is a new generation modern aircraft now. We will start two new routes from Bangladesh to Doha of Qatar and Dammam of Saudi Arab by this new aircraft.”
Chief Executive Officer Lt General (Retd) M Fazle Akber added, Regent Airways will procure three more new aircrafts in the current year. Of these, two are Bowing 737-800 aircrafts while rest one is Bowing 777-200 aircraft.
He said, “After procuring three new aircrafts, we will start five more international new routes which will be Guangzhou in China, Jakarta in Indonesia, Colombo of Sri Lanka, Male of Maldives and Jeddah of Saudi Arab.”
On Sunday, Chairman of Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (Caab), Air Vice-Marshal Ehsanul Gani Chowdhury inaugurated the aircraft at Shah Jalal International Airport. Chairman of Habib Group Yakub Ali, Managing Director of Regent Airways Mashruf Habib, Chief Executive Officer Lt Gen (Retd) M Fazle Akber NDC, PSC and high officials of the airline were present at inaugural ceremony.
Earlier, the new aircraft has reached at Shah Jalal International Airport from Singapore on Saturday noon. The Chairman of Regent Airways Yasin Ali received the new Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
