“Acting on trip off we arrested them while they were in a clandestine meeting at a flat of the area”. The Islami Samaj is a black listed, he added. It was established by some Abdul Zabbar who had linked with Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh, now it is running by Humayun Kabir who had also connection with Islami Chhatra Shibir, said Poritosh Gosh. “They target less educated people capitalising the Islam for the organisation and gave them ‘dawat’ to their ideology” he said. He also said that one of the detainees named Md Yousuf Ali was sued in a militant case in 2008 due to his connection with JMB. It was established in 1997 in Comilla and the government black listed them in 2008.
