A local Jubo League leader was killed and another person injured in a gun attack coupled with bomb blasts at Bejerdanga in Fultala upazila of Khulna yesterday night, reports UNB. The deceased as identified as Jony Mollah, 30, vice-president of Bejerdanga union unit of Jubo League, the associate youth wing of Awami League, and son of Yusuf Mollah of the upazila headquarters. Officer-in-charge of Fultala Police Station Asaduzzaman said a group of six miscreants on two motorcycles hurled several hand bombs at Jony and later opened fire on him around 7:45pm when he was having tea at a shop by Bejerdanga Railway Station, leaving him dead on the spot.
Another man, Mahbub, also suffered wounds during the attack. He was admitted to Fultala Upazila Health Complex.
