Veteran actress Khaleda Akhtar Kalpana has been acting in films and TV plays for many years. With her unique role as a mother in the numerous films, she earned huge admiration from the viewers and established herself mostly for the signature role of a mother. To do justify with the role of mother, Khaleda Akhtar wrote a stage play titled ‘Emon Ekta Ma De Na’.
Meanwhile, the play was staged for four-five times under the direction of Mehjan, and Khaled Akhtar played the central role in it. But nowadays, she is not acting in the play anymore as the production is facing financial crisis badly with its staging.
Revealing the financial crisis that bars them staging the play regularly, Khaled Akhtar Kalpana said, “This is the first stage play written by me, which has an amazing story. But due to the financial crisis, in many cases the characters are played by weak artistes which raise a question regarding the quality of the play. For this reason, I don’t want the play to be staged failing to keep the standard up. I act in the play, I am satisfied with it.”
On the other hand, Khaleda Akhtar Kalpana is currently working in two drama serials; these are Salahuddin Lavlu’s ‘Sonar Pakhi Rupar Pakhi’ and Kaiser Ahmed’s ‘Phulki’.
Besides, she has worked in a television commercial (TVC) recently. The TVC has been made by Krishendu Chatterjee for the juice of a multinational company.
Khaled Akhtar made her film debut with Matin Rahman-directed ‘Radhakrishna’. Then, she acted in many films; among these, ‘Sohel Rana’, ‘Phulsojja’, ‘Shesh Aghat’, ‘Mayer Kanna’, ‘Tin Konya’, Rocky’, ‘Dhaka-86’, ‘Ziner Badshah’, ‘Achena’, Swapner Thikana’, ‘Anondo Ashru’ and ‘Keyamat Theke Keyamat’ are the notable films.
