EPSON eyes higher market share

Epson targets to achieve 52 per cent market share from 40 per cent in Bangladesh Samba Moorthy, vice president, sales and marketing, Epson India made the remark at the launching of its WF-R8591 WorkForce Pro RIPS printer at a hotel in the capital yesterday. 

Epson officials expressed that the newly launched model WF-R8591 is economic and expected to make business printing cost effective. Samba Moorthy, vice president, Sales and Marketing, Epson India, initiated the programme by giving a presentation regarding their product attributes.  
In 2012, Epson market share in India was 23.7 per cent, but the market share went up to 31.1 per cent in 2016 after Epson WF-R8591 was introduced, Samba Moorthy added.     Deputy General Manger of Epson India Sivakumar discussed the product attributes and said that Replaceable Ink Pack System (RIPS) provides users up to 75,000 pages of uninterrupted printing in both black and colour.
He demonstrated an example and said that the four ink packs of the WF-R8591 can print the rough equivalent volume of 52 standard toner cartridges and generate a far lower environmental impact as a result.     
Sivakumar compared the Epson WorkForce Pro RIPS printer to the traditional ink cartridges and said that RIPS printer utilizes high capacity Replaceable Ink Pack Systems (RIPS) that can hold a far higher volume of ink compared to traditional ink cartridges and is ideal for big office printing.
