Mobile court fines Jamuna LPG Tk 2.5 lakh

The gas company Jamuna LPG has been fined Tk. 2.5 lakh by a mobile court for storing expired LPG cylinders, Nazim Uddin, the assistant commissioner and executive magistrate of the district administration, told journalists. He added that the Jamuna LPG factory at the Mongla port area was examined yesterday evening. During the drive, technicians identified three expired and unusable gas cylinders on the premises. The executive magistrate said that the  company has flouted the law deliberately in this regard, creating a life hazard for its customers. For this reason, it has been fined Tk. 2.5 lakh under Sections 51 and 53 of the Consumer Rights Law.
