UIU storm into super eight

United International University (UIU) stormed into super eight of 10th ULAB Fair Play Cup Inter Private University Cricket Tournament beating IUBAT by 35 runs at the ULAB playground at Mohammadpur in the capital yesterday.

UIU batted first to collect a meager 96 runs before being all out in 18.4 overs. Tanvir of UIU knocked 24 runs from 19 balls. In reply, IUBAT were bowled out for  61 in 18.2 overs. Ansati of UIU took 3 wickets giving away 13 runs to become man of the match.
Eastern University (EU) beat South East University (SEU)  by six wickets in the other match of the day. SEU managed to collect 99 runs before being all out in 19.3 overs. Alif  of SEU struck an unbeaten 34. Showmik of EU took 5 wickets at the cost of 3 runs. In return, EU overhauled the target losing 4 wickets in 19 overs. Rifat of EU was adjudged man of the match for his sparkling knock of 52.
