Arastoo Khan, chairman of the Board of Directors of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited, has been elected chairman of Islamic Banks Consultative Forum (IBCF), the bank said in a statement yesterday.
AKM Nurul Fazal Bulbul, founder director of EXIM Bank Ltd, and Alhajj Abdus Samad, chairman of Board of Directors of Al-Arafah Islami Bank Limited, were also made vice-chairmen.
They were elected in the 50th meeting of IBCF held at Bangladesh Association of Banks (BAB) secretariat, Dhaka on Sunday, the statement added.
Arastoo Khan, the former secretary, was a member of Planning Commission. He was the chairman of Bangladesh Commerce Bank Limited.
AKM Nurul Fazal Bulbul is vice chairman of Central Depository Bangladesh Limited (CDBL) and Co-founder of EXIM Bank Ltd, Sun life Insurance Co, and Japan-Bangladesh Medical Associates.
Alhajj Abdus Samad is the chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Arafah Islami Bank Ltd. He is also the chairman of S Alam Cold Rolled Steels Ltd and vice chairmen of S Alam Group and Ekushey Television (ETV).
