Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained nine people, including five women and two children, for entering the country through Daulatpur border point here yesterday morning.The detainees are Sobhan Ali, 23, Jahangir Hossain, 50, Sahabuddin Ahmed, 25, Doly Begum, 18, Lipi Begum, 30, Misti Begum, 25, Roji Begum, 19, Babu, 7, and Simu, 6. They reportedly hail from different areas of Bagerhat and Narail districts.Tipped off that a group of people were entering Bangladesh from India illegally, a team of the border force conducted a drive in the area in the morning and arrested them, said BGB Battalion-21 Daulatpur camp commander Abdul Samad.Sensing the presence of BGB men, the human traffickers, however, managed to flee away.Later, BGB troops handed the detainees over to Benapole Port Police Station.A case was filed in this connection.
