HAAB announces panel for polls
Former leaders of Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB) yesterday have announced its panel under the banner of Ganatantrik Oikkya Front to participate the next election in April.
The leaders also announced the name of Abdus Sobhan Bhuiyan Hasan as panel chief. The decision was taken at a meeting held in a city hotel with ATAB president SM Manzur Morshed in the chair. The leaders also declared for filing a case against corrupt present HAAB leaders for embezzling Tk 9 crore in the name of procuring lands for HAAB Palli. Among others, Bangladesh Hajj Jatri and Hazi Welfare Council president Alhaj Advocate Abdullah Al Naser, former HAAB presidents Abdus Shakur and Jamal Uddin, ATAB secretary general Aslam Khan, former HAAB vice presidents Golam Sarwar and Tajul Islam, former HAAB secretary general Rashid Shah Samrat and other HAAB leaders also spoke on the occasion. They also urged the HAAB members to elect Ganatantrik Oikkya Front panel ousting the present corrupt HAAB committees through ballots in the next HAAB election.
March for Mother today
A procession titled March for Mother will be brought out in front of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in the capital at 9am today, says a press release.
The procession will be held to create social movement for prevention and early detection of cervical (uterus) cancer. CCPR, OGSB, GOSB, National Institute of Cancer Research Hospital (NICRH) will participate in the programme.
