The National Sports Council has dissolved the executive committee of Bangladesh Tennis Federation (BTF) as per Act of 1974 20 A (B) yesterday and formed a 28-member ad-hoc executive committee to run the activities of the federation.
The NSC has also directed the new ad-hoc committee to hold an election of the federation as soon as possible.
Incumbent president Shahriar Alam MP, who is also the state minister for foreign affairs, has been retained as the president of the ad-hoc committee. Golam Morshed, former adviser of Bangladesh Tennis Federation, has been named as the new general secretary. The five vice-presidents are: Mohammad Ali Deen, Md Haji Selim, Niaz Ahmed, Md Abdur Rahman and SM Haider. Sheikh Mainuddin Waliullah Jhelun and Dr Shubash Chandra Biswas have been made as two joint secretaries, while Sheikh Md Aslam will act as treasurer. Eighteen persons have been made as member of the committee.
