Environment and Forest Minister Anwar Hossain Manju yesterday underscored the need for creating awareness among the people to help harness sea resources through proper management for the advancement of the country, reports BSS.
"We have lot of mineral resources in our maritime boundary. Awareness is very important to save the resources," he said while addressing as the chief guest a seminar on "Blue Economy: Save and Protect our Seas" at National Press Club in the capital.
Bangladesh National Committee of International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Members organised the seminar. Manju said Bangladesh can further boost its economy using properly the sea resources and added the sea boundary of the country has increased. He urged the government officials concerned to apply their knowledge in professional life and help harness the sea resources.
