One to die for double murder

CHUADANGA: A court here yesterday sentenced one person to death for killing a woman and her daughter at their rented house in Railpara area in the district town in 2009, reports BSS.
The court also fined him Taka 50,000.Additional District and Session Judge M Rokonuzzaman pronounced the verdict.
The convict is Manjurul Islam Mallik alias Lipu, 35, son of Golam Hossain Mollik, a resident of Railpara area of the district.
The prosecution story, in brief, is that Lipu chopped to death Rina Khatun, wife of Habibur Rahman, a local clothes businessman, and their daughter Ayesa Khatun at their residence on September 16, 2009 as they refused to give toll.Habibur Rahman filed a murder case with Sadar police station and police arrested Lipu on the same day.
