Cigarettes worth Tk 30 lakh seized

A joint team of Customs and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) yesterday seized illegally hoarded cigarettes worth Tk 30 lakh from Bogra.
Acting on a tip-off, the joint team conducted the drive at a house at Betgari under Shajahanpur upazila in Bogra, said Executive Magistrate Dr Tayeb-ur Rahman, who was with the raiding team. After searching the house, the team seized 133 cartons of Durby cigarettes, a brand of British American Tobacco (BAT) Bangladesh, from the flat. The magistrate told journalists that Badshah Akand, an official of Marise, a cigarette brand, was illegally hoarding the Derby cigarettes.
