The 2nd death anniversary of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia's younger son Arafat Rahman Koko was observed yesterday, reports UNB.
BNP and its associate bodies marked the day with due solemnity amid various programmes. As part of the programmes, BNP arranged a milad mahfil at its Nayapaltan central office at 11:30am. Senior party leaders attended the programme seeking eternal peace of Koko's departed soul.
Later, BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir together with party leaders and activists also placed wreaths at Koko's grave around 2:15pm paying homage to him. They also distributed cooked food and blankets among some poor people near the graveyard. Besides, Khaleda Zia together with her relatives and party leaders and activists offered fateha at Koko's grave at Banani Graveyard in the city.
