Bridge collapse halts traffic

Khagrachhari: Traffic on the Khagrachhari-Panchhari road remained suspended from Sunday morning after a bailey bridge collapsed under the weight of a truck in Sadar upazila, reports UNB.
Executive engineer Moslem Uddin Chowdhury of the Roads and Highways in the district said the bridge broke down at Kukuchhara in the morning after the wood-laden truck approached it. The incident halted the communication using the road. Meanwhile, the Roads and Highways Division started the work to repair the damaged bridge.
