3 Jamaat-Shibir men arrested
Police arrested three Jamaat leaders from Jagua area of the city on Sunday night. Acting on a tip off police raided the area at 10pm and arrested the three. 
Shah Md Awlad Hosen, officer in charge of Barisal Kotwali Model Police Station, said that 10 of the Jamaat-Shibir leaders and workers were holding meeting for creating abnormal situation in the city. After informing that police rushed to the spot and arrested three including former city Jamaat secretary Md Mijanur Rahman Bacchu, President of Jagur unit Jamaat Tofazzel Talukdar and Shibir activist Majed Laskar. Police said all were accused in two separate cases.

BDRCS receives  donation
Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) on Sunday received donation of Taka 25 lakh to support the people who illegally entered into Bangladesh from Myanmar.
Chairman of Centre for Zakat Management Niaz Rahim handed over a cheque of Taka 25 lakh to Chairman of BDRCS Hafiz Ahmed Majumder in the capital, a press release said. 

Seminar on corruption-free country held in capital 
Railways Minister Mujibul Huq on Sunday urged the mass media to dig out the truth and publish it to stop corruption in society.
He made the call at a seminar at MBA auditorium in the capital marking the completion of 20 years of a weekly newspaper.
Presided over by Aporadh Bichitra Editor SM Morshed, the seminar on 'Corruption-Free Country-Our Dream' was also addressed by Bangladesh Press Council Chairman Justice Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed, Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) President Dr Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin, former Permanent Representative to UN Dr AKM Abdul Momen and journalist Gias Uddin, among others.

Clean campaign inaugurated at BSMMU
With the slogan "Our Campus, We will Keep It Clean", a clean campaign was inaugurated for the first time at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in the capital yesterday.
BSMMU Vice-chancellor Professor Dr Kamrul Hasan Khan inaugurated the campaign as the chief guest in front of D-Block on the campus, said a press release.
Pro-VCs Professor Dr Md Shahidullah Sikder and Professor Dr Md Sharfuddin Ahmed, former Pro-VC Professor Dr Md Ruhul Amin Miah, Treasurer Professor Dr Md Ali Asgor Moral, Dean of Medicine Faculty Professor Dr ABM Abdullah, Proctor Professor Dr Md Habibur Rahman Dulal, Director Brigadier General Md Abdullah Al Harun and senior teachers and officials of the university joined the campaign.
