RAJSHAHI: Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) will conserve the existing social, cultural and archeological heritages in the city, reports BSS.
To this end, the city corporation will develop and promote necessary infrastructures. It has formulated a project titled "Sustainable Development of the city through conservation and development of social, cultural, environmental and archeological infrastructures".
The project will be implemented with an estimated cost of around Taka 21.96 crore. Indian Government will finance the project. A memorandum of understanding will be signed to this end on January 29. Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh and Secretary to Economic Relation Division are likely to attend the ceremony.
A meeting held at the Mayor Office here on Sunday in this regard, where RCC Acting Mayor Nizam-Ul Azim and Assistant Indian High Commissioner Avijit Chottopadhya discussed overall aspects of the project and ways and means to implement it effectively.
RCC Chief Executive Officer Dr Sharif Uddin, Chief Engineer Ashraful Haque and Chief Conservatory Officer Sheikh Mamun were present at the meeting.
