Truck- lorry strike begins in Barisal

Owners association of Truck- Mini Truck and Lorry went on strike form indefinite period from and to southern region from yesterday morning demanding 12 points demands, including stopping of  police harassment on the roads. 

They also held a demonstration in support of their demands in Goriar Par area at the entry point of Barisal city. 
In the demonstration meeting speakers said that there is no truck terminal all over the Barisal division. As a result trucks are parking here and there and police fined them due to the reason. Spare parts of the trucks also stolen for that. 
Nasir Uddin, Muhammed Ali Bagha, Babul Sharif, Eman Ali,Md. Said Khan, Abdul Malek, Sultan Hosen and SM Sukkur. S Taiyab Ali Mia spoke among others. 
Vice president of Barisal Divisional Truck Labour Association and Mijanur Rahman Dulal, Treasurer of Barisal Divisional Truck Owners Association said that they are demanding a truck terminal in Barisal since 40 years but none paid any heed about it. That’s why there is no alternative to go on strike, they added. Hundreds of goods laden were remained standed standed.
