Today is the 75th birthday of ‘Nayak Raj’-famed actor Razzak, the living legend of the country’s filmdom. On the occasion of his birthday, he will participate in a TV show today. Channel i always puts emphasis extensively to mark the birthday of Razzak. Honouring the iconic actor, Channel i will air its programme ‘Taroka Kothon’ in a special manner today from 12 to 1pm. Besides answering to different questions from the anchor, Razzak will also attend phone calls from his fans and audience. The programme is anchored by Dilruba Sathi and produced by Ananya Ruma.
Razzak said about his birthday, “As time passes by, I have completed 75 years of my life and stepping into 76 today. By the grace of Allah and with everyone’s blessings, I am still physically sound. It always reminds me about my family members, including my parents, when my birthday arrives; especially, I feel for my father and mother so much on the day of my birthday. I always pray that may Allah grant them Jannah. I believe that as I was born to the parents like them, I enjoyed the much colourful life of a hero.”
“My wife Lakkhi with immense love and affection has been taking care of our family after our marriage. Truly, I am intensely indebted to her. It’s a matter of my satisfaction and great pride as a father that my children have grown up in an appropriate manner as good human beings. Besides, the people of Bangladesh have honoured me by giving a prestigious place of Nayak Raj, and every single moment, I can feel their unconditional love.”
Though Razzak did not act in any film during last one year due to illness, he worked in a few productions for the small screen under the direction of his son Shamrat. A special telefilm titled ‘Daybhar’, starring Razzak in a lead role, was aired on Channel i on his birthday last year. Besides, Razzak-acted telefilm ‘Chairman-er Charitra Phuler Moto Pabitra’ directed by Shamrat was aired during last Eid. Razzak fascinated the audience with his unique performance in the telefilm.
On the other hand, keeping Razzak in an important role, Shamrat is going to make a 90-minute special telefilm ‘Chena Manush Ochena Mukh’ based on a novel by Faridur Reza Sagor. Meanwhile, the screenplay of the telefilm has been written by Rana Zakaria and it will be produced in the coming summer.
To note, Razzak won the prestigious National Film Award for seven times for his unique roles in the different films. He is the only actor who has received the Swadhinata Padak, the highest state award given by the government of Bangladesh, in his lifetime. l
