Customs intelligence personnel seized 325 smartphones of different brands worth about Taka one crore from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital yesterday morning, reports BSS.
"We seized 325 pieces of smartphones of different brands, worth about Tk one crore from Green Channel area of the airport around 11 am," Dr Mainul Khan told the news agency.
The mobile phone sets smuggled in the country without paying taxes, he added.
A case was lodged to this end. Earlier on Saturday, Customs officials also seized 14,900 mobile phone sets with IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) worth about Tk 1.79 crore from the airport.
