3 ‘Shibir’ men held at RU

Police detained three suspected activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir, student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami from the Rajshahi University (RU) campus on Thursday evening. The detainees are Liyakot of public administration department of RU, Fahad Hossain of finance department and Shuvo of accounting and information system department of the university. They were all third year students. Campus sources said Liyakot, Fahaduddin and Shuvo were talking with the freshers at Tukitaki Chattar. But, they were interrupted by RU BCL unit president Golam Kibriya and general secretary Faisal Ahmed Runu. At one stage of interrogation, BCL leaders handed the trio to police, claiming that they found some photos and information from their mobile phones related to Shibir, sources added.
