Workers stage demo at North Bengal Sugar Mills

Sugarcane crushing at North Bengal Sugar Mills here remained suspended for six hours yesterday as the workers went on a work abstention demanding a pay rise, reports UNB from Natore.  Abdur Rouf, president of the Collective Bargaining Agent (CBA) of the mill, said the workers abstained from work from 8am also to protest cutting their overtime bills.  Following the assurance by the mill authorities, the workers returned to work around 2pm, he said.
