Satkhira BCL man ‘murdered’

A district-level leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) was allegedly murdered in Satkhira yesterday. The body of Hasibul Hasan Emon, 25, joint secretary of Satkhira district unit BCL, was found in a fish enclosure in Amtola Beel area of Dhulihar union of Sadar upazila yesterday morning. Hasibul Hasan is the son of Sheikh Iqbal Hasan Liton of Sultanpur area in Satkhira town. He was a student of Khulna Azam Khan Govt. Commerce College. Locals spotted Emon’s body in the area around 10am and informed police, said Firoz Hossain Mollah, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station. Later, police recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital for autopsy. The OC also added that Emon might have been strangled to death. Police arrested two associates of the decease — Murad and Biplob for interrogation over the suspected murder.
