RU first year honors classes begin 
Rajshahi: The classes of the first year students of Rajshahi University (RU) under the academic session of 2016-17 started yesterday. 
Sign by RU public Relation Officer and also Associate Professor of Mass Communication and Journalism Department (MCJ), Mosiur Rahman confirmed it through a press release. Earlier, all process of admission has been ended on January 3, but some 52 seats were vacant while university authorities have extended the dateline of admission until January 30. Around 38 candidates vied for each of the 4, 713 seats of this year's admission tests at University.  Details information about admission is available at the varsity notice board and also website www.ru.ac.bd, Prof. Rahman added.

Grand finale of ‘Inter CreADive’ held at BUP
Bangladesh University of Professionals Business and Communication Club (BUPBCC) organised the grand finale of ‘Inter CreADive-2016’ at a hotel at Uttara in the capital on Monday evening, says a press release.  
Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Annisul Haq was the chief guest. Vice-Chancellor of BUP Maj Gen Md Salahuddin Miaji was the special guest. The first round of the four-phase competition began on November 25, 2016 where cases were given the contestants to solve on-spot to test their creativity, residence and time management. The next rounds were consecutively comprised of Activation Campaign, 360° Marketing Campaign and Social Campaign also incorporated in the final. 
In the grand finale, Pringles team from IBA, Dhaka University became the champion while Slightly Agitated Utensils team from IBA, Dhaka University became 1st runner up. Among others, BUP Officers, teachers and students  were also present in the programme.

ULAB, Yunnan Open University, China sign MoU 
The University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) and Yunnan Open University (YNOU), China signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on January 10, says a press release. 
The agreement aimed at paving the way for collaboration via faculty and student exchange, joint research and publications, joint art exhibitions, seminars and academic meetings, setting up a Chinese Language Centre at ULAB, conducting special short-term academic programmes, and internship arrangements for ULAB students in China. 
Prof Imran Rahman, vice-chancellor of ULAB, and Prof Lou Ji, vice-president of YNOU, signed the MoU in Kunming, China on behalf of their respective universities. Abu Rasel, director, ULAB Career Services Office, and Prof Li Rui, vice dean, YNOU’s International Affairs, were present during the signing ceremony.
