RAJSHAHI: Large-scale expansion of e-commerce and outsourcing could be the vital means of boosting women entrepreneurship together with their empowerment and gender balance, reports BSS.
In the present competitive era, significance of promoting women entrepreneurship has been mounted to a greater extent. So, all government and business organisations should come forward with positive mindset to this end.
The observations came in a closing and certificate-giving ceremony of a two day E-commerce training at AITS conference hall in Rajshahi city on Sunday afternoon.
SME Foundation and Women Entrepreneurs Association of Bangladesh (WEAB) jointly organised the training.
Twenty-five women entrepreneurs engaged in different business such as- boutique, food making, parlor etc where there is bright scopes to use ICT for enhancing the marketing of their products in national level joined the course.
The participants received knowledge on business photography, using social media for marketing purpose especially the use of face book by creating business page in face book where it is ensured that each participant will be able to open and use their own business page, upload quality pictures of their products.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Ataul Gani and AITS Director Nasrin Sultana addressed the ceremony as chief and special guests respectively with WEAB local unit president Anzuman Ara Parveen in the chair.
The discussants opined the world trend to become self-reliant is higher than any time in the past and outsourcing has become one of the main tools to be self-reliant. The training on e-commerce will ensure the fair price of the commodities produced at entrepreneurs’ level, they added.
The chief guest thanked all the participants and trainers for their enthusiasm and hard work to make the session a successful one hoping that all these knowledge and practical learning of ICT tools will be used by all participated entrepreneurs to initiate innovative and efficient use of these ICT tools in promoting their business.
He said substantial and sustainable promotion of women entrepreneurship is very important for boosting their income generating activities besides employment for many others and women empowerment.
