A Brahmanbaria court yesterday granted interim bail to Rasraj Das, who was arrested in a case filed under the Information and Communication Technology Act over the attack on Hindu community in Nasirnagar, reports UNB.
Md Ismail Hossain, Judge of Brahmanbaria District and Sessions Judge's court passed the order on bond Tk 10,000 around 11:00am responding to a bail petition. Advocate Nasir Miah stood for Rasraj while public prosecutor S M Yousuf argued for the state.
Earlier on November 8, a bail petition of Rasraj, 30, son of Jagannath Das, a resident of Harinbed village of Haripur union, was rejected.
On October 30, some unruly people demolished 15 Hindu temples and vandalised over 100 houses in the upazila following a Facebook post that allegedly hurt the religious sentiment of the Muslim community.
Rasraj was detained after a Facebook post posted from a profile bearing his name triggered the attack.
