'Sultan Mela' begins in Narail

NARAIL: A seven-day 'Sultan Mela (fair)' in remembrance of the 92th birth anniversary of celebrated artist SM Sultan began yesterday in front of Sultan Mancha on the premises of Narail Government Victoria College, reports BSS.
SM Sultan Foundation in association with the District Administration has organised the fair to mark the birth anniversary of the renowned artist. The fair will continue until January 21.
Deputy Speaker Fazle Rabbi Miah inaugurated the fair as the chief guest this afternoon with Deputy Commissioner and President of Sultan Foundation Helal Mahmud Sharif in the chair.
Sheikh Hafizur Rahman, MP, District Council Chairman Advocate Shorab Hossain Biswas, Police Superintendent Sarder Rakibul Islam, District Awami League President Advocate Subash Chandra Bose and Narail Municipality Mayor Zahangir Biswas spoke at the function, among others.
