Stress on skill development of women entrepreneurs

Adequate training for skill development of the women entrepreneurs could further flourish their trade, business and enterprises in enhancing the national economy, speakers said here on Sunday, reports BSS.
They said that the women entrepreneurs had already been significantly accelerating the national uplift and economic activities in every sector promoting women empowerment to advance the country forward towards a middle income nation.
They were addressing inaugural ceremony of a five-day training workshop on ‘Development of Entrepreneurs in Creating New Businesses’ at the hall room of Rangpur Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RWCCI) in the city.
The RWCCI has been organising the workshop under the Development and Expansion of Women Entrepreneurship Programme with assistance of SME Foundation and National Association of Small and Cottage Industries of Bangladesh (NASCIB). Fifty female entrepreneurs have been participating in the workshop being conducted by a group of trainers led by former Chief Faculty Member Manjurul Haque of Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industry Corporation (BSCIC) Training Institute.
Deputy Commissioner Rahat Anwar attended inaugural ceremony of the workshop as the chief guest with RWCCI President Anwara Ferdousi Poly in the chair. Senior Vice-president of RWCCI Mrs Shahanaz Parveen Shahin, its Vice-president Morsheda Khatun and Director Zakia Ahsan Lucky, Ferdousi Jasmine Mala and Sharmin Akhter Shimul, addressed as special guests.The speakers said that the present government led by Prime Minsiter Sheikh Hasina had been working sincerely for developing more women entrepreneurs for enhancing their involvements with trade, business and commerce.
The chief guest said the women entrepreneurs had been playing vital role in accelerating the socioeconomic uplift activities in every sector through their vital contribution and leadership as a result of women-friendly policy of the present government.“The women entrepreneurs could further flourish their trade, business, industries and enterprises if their professional skill and expertise on information and communication technology were improved through providing necessary training,” he added. Anwara Ferdousi Poly thanked the SME Foundation and NASCIB for their assistance in arranging the training workshop that would definitely help the women entrepreneurs in flourishing their trade, commerce, business and enterprises.
