Bangladesh Navy yesterday handed over two newly constrcuted harbour patrol boats- Buriganga and Shitalakhya to Bangladesh Coast Guast.
The two patrol boats were built at the Narayanganj dockyard, an enterprise of Bangladesh Navy, said a press release issued by the Inter Service Public Relation (ISPR).
According to the release, the boats will be used for patrolling the coast to ensure security of the country’s maritime assets.
“The boats will also be used for rescue operation in the sea if needed,” the relaese added.
