The High Court today asked Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) commissioner to produce two children arrested over a murder, before it on January 29, reports UNB.
"A High Court division bench comprising Justice Quazi Reza-Ul Hoque and Justice Mohammad Ullah passed the order, asking DMP boss to produce the two kids before the court through a police official on that day," said Barrister Md Abdul Halim, chairman of Children Charity Foundation that filed a writ petition in this regard.
On November 29, 2016, the court issued a rule asking police to explain why arresting the kids shall not be deemed contrary to sections 13, 14, 44, 45, 47 and 52 of Children Act.
The court had also asked the police to determine the age of the two kids.
According to the petition, the kids, both below nine, were arrested on October 12, 2016, in a case filed over murder of their playmate Uzzal.
