Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon has appreciated the expansion of domestic flight operation in Bangladesh saying it is now a necessity, not a luxury at all, reports UNB. Bangladesh is growing fast economically. Its economic activities have increased significantly. So, domestic flight operation is no longer a luxury,” he told a function on Monday night. Appreciating the role of private sector in boosting domestic aviation industry, Menon hoped that the operating private airlines will contribute more towards strengthening the aviation industry in the coming days. Novoair, one of the private airlines, hosted the function to celebrate its 4th anniversary which stepped into its 5th year of operation. Civil Aviation Authority, Bangladesh (CAAB) Chairman Air Vice Marshal Ehsanul Gani Choudhury and Novoair Managing Director Mofizur Rahman also spoke on the occasion. The CAAB Chairman said Novoair has showed the way how to provide quality services maintaining flight schedule which is very important. “We're comfortable with Novoair and everything is up to the standard.”
Mofizur Rahman said they will work to further expand their network in the coming days. “It's a moment for commitment. We all together want to take Novoair to a new height. We want to make our growth sustainable.” He hoped that the support Novoair got from allover the past four years will continue in the future. Mofizur Rahman pledged that they would continue to provide the highest security for passengers maintaining quality services. “Novoair has always given priority to its customers' safety and security. By ensuring the top of the class and timely service, Novoair has earned the trust and satisfaction of its passengers, which is exemplary for others,” he said. Later, popular band Souls performed and sang over a dozen of popular songs. Novoair launched its domestic flight operations on January 9, 2013 with starting Dhaka-Chittagong flights. Currently, Novoair is operating its domestic operations in all major destinations and also covering its flights to international destinations like Yangon and Kolkata.
