Samsung announces winners of photography contest

Samsung Electronics announ-ced the winners of the photography contest “This is Bangladesh”, the company said in a press statement yesterday.  

Each winner will receive a 32” Samsung TV as reward of their creativities. 
The purpose of the competition was to portray Bangla-desh positively with picturesque photographs in digital media and recognise amateur photographers who captured the photos, the statement added. 
The contest was kicked off on December 1, 2016 in Samsung Bangladesh’s official Facebook page “Samsung Bangladesh” asking participants to upload any photo of Bangladesh taken by them with  hashtag This is Bangladesh (#ThisIsBangladesh).
Samsung received more than five hundred photographs from the contestants out of which nine photos were shortlisted by Samsung Electronics Bangla-desh. These nine photographs were then uploaded in Facebook for public voting in and were judged by freelance photographers.
As per the decision of the judge panel and number of likes on the photographs in Facebook, Samsung Electronics Bangladesh announced the names of the winners --Abdul Momin of Bogra, Imtiaz Uddin  of Dhaka, Tonmoy Chowdhury of Dhaka.
