The Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) did not conduct its scheduled eviction drive in the capital’s several areas yesterday due to non-availability of police sought by them (RAJUK).
The RAJUK authority has made a schedule to start eviction drive in residential areas at Gulshan, Banani and Baridhara R/A (Zone-4) on January 10, 17, 24 and 30, at Uttara R/A (Zone-2) on January 8, 15, 22 and 26, at Dhanmondi and Lalmatia R/A (Zone-5) on January 9, 16, 23 and 29 and at Mirpur, Mohammadpur and Pallabi (Zone-3) on January 11, 18, 25 and 31.
“We didn’t conduct today’s (Tuesday) scheduled eviction drive due to non-availability of police,” Mohammad Adiluzzaman, authorised officer of RAJUK (Zone- 4) told The Independent yesterday.
He also hoped that they will get police in the next drives as per their requisition. “We will continue the eviction drive against illegal structures peacefully. Today we will conduct the drive at 60 feet-road in Mirpur-Agargaon areas,” Mobarak Hossain, authorised officer of RAJUK (Zone- 3) told this correspondent.
