Man gets life for killing wife

A court here yesterday sentenced a man to life term imprisonment for killing his wife at Narayandia village in Sirajganj Sadar upazila in 2011. The court also fined him Tk 10,000, in default, to suffer six months more rigorous imprisonment, reports BSS. Additional District and Session Judge Dr Iman Ali pronounced the verdict. According to court official, the convict is Enamul, 30, a resident of the same area.
According to the prosecution, Enamul strangulated to death his pregnant wife Kalpana Khatun over a family feud on May 18, 2011. The victim's uncle Rafikul filed a murder case against Enamul.
