Youth stabbed to death
Comilla: A young man was stabbed to death by criminals at Nurpur area of the district town on Sunnday afternoon, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Hasan, son of Abdul Hakim, a resident of the area.
Abdul Rouf, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Model Police Station, said a gang of miscreants attacked Hasan while he was sitting at a saloon at Comilla Housing Estate area around 3pm and stabbed him indiscriminately, leaving him critically injured. Later, Hasan was rushed to Comilla Medical College Hospital from where he was referred to Dhaka Medical Hospital (DMCH).
He succumbed to the injuries on the way to hospital.
Hundi trader arrested

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested an alleged hundi (bill of exchange) trader with TK 4.02 lakh in Putkhali border area under Benapole Police Station early yesterday.
The arrestee was identified as Zafor Hossain , 42, son of Ghesha Uttar Putkhali village.
BGB sources said on secret information, a tam of the border guards took position on Putkhali road in the area early in the morning. Later, they intercepted motorcycle rider Zafor and recovered TK 4.02 lakh from his possession.
The arrestee was handed over to Benapole Port Police Station. A case was filed in this connection.
Road accident kills worker
KURIGRAM: A construction worker was killed as a bus ran over him in Agomoni area on the Kurigram-Rangpur road in Sadar upazila yesterday morning, reports BSS..
The deceased was Sabar Uddin, 40, a resident of Ekta Bazar area under Rajarhat upazila of the district.
Police said the accident occurred when a Rangpur-bound bus ran over Sabar in the area at about 9 am. He died on the spot.
