Promotion of information and communication technology (ICT) based audit could be the vital means of combating banking sector fraudulence, reports BSS from Rajshahi.
Large-scale application of ICT is also important towards making the banking transactions and other services transparent, time-fitting and client-friendly in the present era of globalisation.
The observations came in the inaugural session of a five-day training titled "Computer on IT Audit" at ICT Division's Computer Training Laboratory in Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) in Rajshahi yesterday. Some 22 mid-level officers of the bank joined the course.
RAKUB Managing Director Shanaul Haque attended and addressed the session as chief guest with its training institute Principal Ataur Rahman in the chair. Faculty Member Md Arifuzzaman also spoke.
"We have enormous opportunities of infusing dynamism into the banking activities through best uses of ICT," said Shanaul Haque.
