Ferry services on Shimulia-Kawrakandi route in the Padma River resumed after four hours of disruption caused by dense fog yesterday morning, reports UNB from Munshiganj. Giasuddin Patwari, manager of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC), said the ferry services and plying of water vessels were suspended from 5:00am to 9.00am on Sunday due to poor visibility caused by the dense fog, leaving five ferries stranded in the mid-river. Some 500 vehicles were also in queues on both sides of the river. However, ferry services resumed as the fog disappeared around 9:00am.
