SA women’s cricket team due today

South Africa women’s cricket team led by captain Dane van Niekerk is scheduled to arrive here in Dhaka to play a bilateral series against the hosts Bangladesh today.

The visiting side will fly for the main ground of the tour, Cox’s Bazar tomorrow (Tuesday) after spending the night in Dhaka.
 Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Saturday announced a 14-member Proteas squad for the 10-day-long Bangladesh tour.
The series comprised of five one day internationals starting from January 12. The next matches of the five-match ODI series will be played with one day break. Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium (SKICS) in Cox’s Bazar will host all the day-affairs. 
Keeping the upcoming ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier in mind, the visitors came here with full strength team. The qualifier will be held in February in Sri Lanka. Bangladesh and South Africa have been pitted in the same Group-B with Scotland, Papua New Guinea and Pakistan.
Meanwhile Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) also announced their 16-member squad for the series. They have been practicing there for the home series since January 3 under the supervision of the head coach David Capel though they began their practice in Dhaka in the mid-December.   
Bangladesh squad: Rumana Ahmed, Jahanara Alam, Sanjida Islam, Sharmin  Sultana, Sharmin Akter, Fargana Hoque, Nigar Sultana, Khadija Tul Kobra, Ritu Moni, Salma Khatun, Shaila Sharmin, Nahida Akter, Panna Ghosh, Suraya Azmin,  Lata Mondal and  Nuzhat TasniaTumpa (WK).
South Africa squad: Dane van Niekerk (captain), Sune Luus, Mignon du Preez, Moseline Daniels, Marizanne Kapp, Marcia Matshipi Letsoalo, Odine Kirsten, Lizelle Lee, Andrie Steyn, Yolani Fourie, Ayabonga Khaka, Chloe Tryon, Sinalo Jafta and Lara Goodall.
