After being whitewashed in both ODI and T20 series, Bangladesh were further blown by the injuries of two key players ahead of the Test series against New Zealand.

Opener Tamim Iqbal, unarguably the best batsman of the country and his Test match opening partner Imrul Kayes fell into injury during the third T20 match in which they were defeated by 27 runs yesterday.
The first of the two-match Test series starts from January 11 at Wellington.
Along with the two batsmen, limited overs captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza was also injured but since he is not the part of Test cricket, his injury concern wasn’t that bigger at the moment. Bangladesh has no limited over cricket scheduled until the March-April when they will tour to Sri Lanka.
Mashrafe has fractured his right thumb, also during the third and final T20 international against New Zealand at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui. The injury could keep him out of cricket for four to six weeks.
Bangladesh physio Dean Conway said: "Mashrafe had an X-ray done immediately after the match and the report has confirmed a fractured right metacarpal. Recovery is expected to take between four to six weeks and will be followed by a short rehab. The injured area will be put in a caste as he recovers."
Opening batsman Tamim Iqbal  hurt his left thumb while fielding and also had an X-ray after the match. "The thumb is sore according an  X-ray report. We will review his condition after 48 hours," said Conway.
The physio also informed that opener Imrul Kayes, whose left knee hit the digital board near the boundary's edge during an attempted catch, did not require a scan today but will be assessed after 48 hours.
