Chairman of the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) Iqbal Mahmood yesterday underscored the need for united efforts of all to combat corruption in the country, reports UNB.
This will be quite impossible to prevent corruption or other illegal activities without taking an integrated effort, he said while addressing a function at the Commission's head office in the capital.
The ACC arranged the function to distribute 'education materials inscribed with anti-corruption words' among members of Bangladesh Scouts and Bangladesh Girl Guides Association. Iqbal Mahmood said the Commission signed agreements with Bangladesh Scouts and Bangladesh Girl Guides Association to involve students in anti-corruption movement aiming to gear up its corruption prevention activities. He said the main aim of the commission's involvement of students in its prevention activities to build them as good citizens and encourage them to practise honesty in their personal lives. We not only want good students but also want to build them as enlightened people, the ACC chief said.
ACC commissioners Dr Nasiruddin Ahmed and AFM Aminul Islam, its secretary Abu M Mustafa Kamal and director general Dr Shamsul Arefin were, among others, present on the occasion.
