Tourists, visitors and locals are facing trouble while taking bath in the sea at Kuakata during high tide. They are often hit by hidden debris of a bio-gas plant structure that was destroyed by super Cyclone Sidr in 2007.
But the Kuakata beach management committee and the Kuakata municipality have not taken any initiative yet to remove this problem.
Kanchan Ali, a fruit seller of Kuakata, said tourists are mostly unaware of the ruins and tree trunks under the water. During high tide the remains of the LGED building, where the the bio-gas plant was set up, go under water.
Md Zahangir Hossain, administrator of Kuakata municipality and Kalapara UNO, said he has come to know about the problem. Necessary steps will be taken soon, he added.
