Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader yesterday alleged that a vested quarter is plotting to kill Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, reports UNB. “A vested quarter is out to kill Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina the way Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was assassinated along with most of his family members in 1975. The country is still at risk of communal extremism,” he said. The Road Transport and Bridges Minister said this while speaking at a views-exchange meeting with Awami Swechchhasebak League at AL president's political office in Dhanmondi in the run-up to AL's January-10 rally at Suhrawardy Udyan marking Bangabandhu's Homecoming Day. The AL leader also asked the party leaders and activists to remain alert so that people are not subjected to sufferings due to the public rally. “We hold public rallies to get public support. It's not good for the party if people suffer due to any programme,” he said. Quader urged party leaders who are undermining the party's image to correct themselves, warning of stern actions.
