Police arrested four activists of Jamaat-e-Islami along with eight crude bombs from a house at South Buruj Bangan village in Sharsha upazila of Jessore district early yesterday, reports UNB.
The arrestees were identified as Noor Hossain 40, Abdus Salam, 47, , Akkel Ali, 45 and Tipu Sultan, 47,-all are residents of Panta para village in the upazila.
Moniruzamnan , officer in charge Sharsha police station said, being tipped off that some local Jamaat activists were gathering at the residence of Nur Hossain in the village they conducted a drive in the house early in the morning and arrested the four activists.The arrestees were planning to carry out subversive activities, the OC added.A case was filed in this connection.
