Woman killed in Jessore

A young housewife was killed allegedly by her husband and in-laws at Laujani Naodapara village in Jhikargachha upazila on Wednesday, reports UNB. The deceased was identified as Jakia Begum, 22, wife of Babul Hossain of the village. Victim’s brother Hasanuzzaman said Babul and his mother Sabeda Begum used to torture Jakia for dowry. They strangled her on Wednesday morning and poured poison into her mouth to make it appear that she took it to commit suicide, he claimed. Later, they took him to the upazila health complex from where she was shifted to Jessore 250-bed Hospital. However, she died around 4pm.
