Three held for shooting UP chairman

Police detained three persons for allegedly opened fire  on  a Union Parishad (UP) Chairman at Boalkhali upazila in Chittagong yesterday morning.
The detained Liton Das, 40, and hid two friends allegedly opened fire aiming at Hamidul Haque Mannan, UP chairman of Ahalla Karaldanga union under Boalkhali upazila of Chittagong district, yesterday morning. In the incident, the bullet did not hit the chairman but a  passerby named Md Ishak received minor injuries.
Shamsul Alam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Boalkhali Police Station, said police detained Liton Das and two of his friends after getting an allegation of the chairman against them. Steps will
be taken after further interrogation.”
