Nat’l Model United Nations confce May 7
The Noakhali Science & Technology University Model United Nations Associations (NSTUMUNA), a club of Noakhali Science and Technology University, declared the date of their first ever National MUN (Model United Nations) conference, says a press release.
The conference is going to commence on May 4, 2017 with a grand opening. It will be closed on May 7, 2017 with elegant dinner and the club will welcome around 250 delegates from different universities/colleges of the country. The club arranged Intra-NSTUMUN’16, the conference was a massive success with three extravagant committees and 110 vivid delegates. After the grand success of this conference the officials came up with a plan to host the MUN in national level and they believe this year the conference is going to be even more effective. The theme for the 2017's conference is ‘Empowering citizens as a manifesto to peace’.
IU classes resume Saturday
KUSHTIA: The classes and examinations of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia will resume on Saturday after a 10-day winter vacation.
The administrative activities were resumed on Tuesday last, an IU press release said. The academic and administrative activities of the university went to the vacation on December 25, 2016.
Bangladesh Open University publishes HSC result
The results of the 1st and 2nd year final examinations of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Programme under Bangladesh Open University (BOU) have been announced.
A total of 1,14,800 students appeared in the HSC 1st and 2nd year final examinations of which 62,784 students appeared in the final examinations. 43,273 students came out successfully with a pass rate 68.92. Result will be available on university website, for CGPA bou.ac.bd and detail result- exam.bou.edu.bd. One can also get result through SMS bou<space>student ID (ll digits any space, for example 13011810001) in Banglalink 2700 and other operators 2777 by sending SMS.
Orientation programmes held at EWU
The orientation programmes of the newly admitted students for Spring Semester 2017 were held in different academic programmes of East West University (EWU) campus located at Aftabnagar yesterday, says a press release.
More than 1400 students got admitted at the graduate and undergraduate programmes in 14th different departments in this semester. Each department of EWU arranged the individual programme for their newly admitted students. The objective of the programme was to welcome the new students and orient them to the university facilities, faculty members, academic system and rules and regulations. Department of Business Administration arranged the orientation programme at the Auditorium Lobby of East West University. Dr Mohammed Farashuddin, chairperson of Board of Trustees, EWU and former governor of Bangladesh Bank, attended the programme as the chief guest. Saidur Rahman Lasker, member, Board of Trustees and Prof MM Shahidul Hassan, Vice-Chancellor of the university, graced the occasion as special guest. Prof Tanbir Ahmed Chowdhury was the guest of honour.
