Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Chairman Iqbal Mahmud yesterday said anyone involved with corruption would not be spared, reports BSS.
"We have taken zero tolerance policy against corruption - both internal and external. Tough actions would be taken against officials on allegations of moral turpitude," he said while presiding over the inaugural session of a workshop to finalise five-year action plan for ACC in the capital.
ACC Commissioners Dr Nasiruddin Ahmed and AFM Aminul Islam also spoke on the occasion while ACC Secretary Abu M Mostafa Kamal delivered the address of welcome.
Forty ACC officials of the levels from director general to deputy director took part in the daylong workshop, said an official release. The ACC chief said the five-year action plan must be specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time-bound. He said the ACC has undertaken some programmes on the basis of perception and intelligence information. Stringent actions would taken against officials, if there is any allegation of moral turpitude, he said, adding that criminal cases will be filed and other actions taken as per rules, if the commission gets allegation of corruption with proof against any ACC official. "None will be spared. For all of us, 2017 will be a harsh year," the ACC chairman said.
