The Bangladesh and South Africa cricket teams will arrive in Chittagong today (Monday) to play the last ODI of the three-match series and first test of two-match test series, at the Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.
The local administration has undertaken strong security measures on their way from the airport to hotel to stadium. Additional police and RAB personnel will be deployed.
For the first time, cricketers will stay at Hotel Radisson Blue Bay View, only Five Star Hotel in Chittagong, where special security measures have been taken.
Contacted, Devdas Bhattacharya, additional commissioner (crime and operation) of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP), said “We will give the highest concentration in assuring security to the teams in Chittagong. All time security measures will be taken from the airport to hotel to stadium.”
“Level-5 security will be provided in the stadium, level-3 security will be provided in the hotel and road”, said Devdas Bhattacharya added that RAB personnel will also be deployed for the security.
Bangladesh will play the last ODI of three-match series and first match of two-match test series against South Africa on July 15 and July 21 at the Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong.
